Bertha Bell Sanders, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 13, 1908, at Blodgett, daughter of George and Gertie Peel Johnson. SHe and Roy Earnest Sanders were married May 25, 1926, at Benton. He died June 9, 1979.
Sanders worked as a sales associate for JCPenney. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau, Capaha Antique Car Club and the Senior Citizens group of Cape Girardeau.
Survivors are a son, Harold Sanders of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Ella Gateley of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles E. Johnson of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Cora Wise of Cape Girardeau and Joyce Eaker of Anna, Ill.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. S.S. Borum officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce.
