GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Bertha Gertrude Barker, 95, of Glenallen died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1909, in Monette, Ark., daughter of Robert Clinton and Edna Davis Goad. She and James Elbert Barker were married Jan. 8, 1928. He died Jan. 24, 1998.
Barker was a dietitian at St. Charles Hospital in Aurora, Ill., until moving to Glenallen in 1968. She attended New Trace Creek Church.
Survivors include three sons, Clinton Barker, James Barker Sr., and Joe Barker Sr., all of Glenallen; three daughters, Wanda Cooper and Linda Russell of Glenallen, Brenda Miller of Marble Hill, Mo.; two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Arnold, Mo., Bonnie James of Marble Hill; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers, two sisters and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Barker Family Cemetery near Glenallen.
