Bertha Alvina Joiner, 69, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1994, at her home.
She was born May 12, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Otto and Bertha Baker Gross. She and James O. Joiner were married Oct. 28, 1939, at Benton. He preceded her in death.
Joiner had worked at Superior Electric, was a chef at Royal N'Orleans Restaurant 25 years, and was an Avon representative 25 years. She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, former member of its United Methodist Women, and member and past grand matron of Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Larry Joiner; two brothers, Carl and Bob Gross; a sister, Velma Holshouser, all of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Jimmie Dace will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
