CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Bernice Penn, 70, of Sikeston, Mo., died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 27, 1933, in Wyatt, Mo., daughter of Jim and Doris Davis. She married Fred Penn who died May 2, 1987.
She was a member of the West End Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Survivors include a son, Roosevelt McGruder Jr, of Chicago; three daughters, Wanda Dowell of Sikeston, Opal Crawford of Chicago, Carol Robinson of Huntsville, Ala.; two brothers, Emile Davis of Sikeston, Osbin Davis of Milwaukee; a sister, Denell Davis of Gary, Ind.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Chester Yarber officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
