Bernice Hope, 79, 654 S. Spring, died Wednesday, July 8, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Nov. 16, 1912, at Kennett, daughter of Ed and Ruth Curd Mosley. She and Oliver Hope were married Dec. 27, 1930, in Anna, Ill. He died Nov. 22, 1979.

Hope worked at the Sears catalog store on Main Street, and then was a teller at Farmers and Merchants Bank 22 years, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Southeast Hospital Auxiliary. She was a past member of Tuesday Club, River City Garden Club, and VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, D.H. Hope of Richardson, Texas; three daughters, Barbara Kem of Milwaukee, Wis., Margaret Shrum and Mary Moore of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
