PERRYVILLE -- Bernard T. "Barney" Winkler, 84, of Perryville died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 20, 1913, at Uniontown, son of Hugo F. and Anna Meyer Winkler.
He married Laura V. Ruessler on April 19, 1947, at Perryville.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a machinist at Molden Hauer Mill until he retired. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion in Perryville.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Wayne and Terry J. Winkler, both of Perryville; a daughter, Jean Ann Brayfield of St. Louis; two sisters, Marie Reese of St. Louis and Frieda Cissell of Perryville; three brothers, Linus "Buddy" and Arthur Winkler, both of Perryville, and Tony Winkler of Jackson; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, four brothers and two children.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake service will be at 7, followed by an American Legion service at 7:30.
Friends also may call at the funeral home from 6:30-9:50 a.m. Tuesday, with the rosary recited at 9. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
