Bernard C. Elfrank, 76, of Scott City went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.
He was born Oct. 30, 1937, in Painton, Mo., to Henry and Maude Elfrank. His foster parents were Nadine and Blanton King. He married Virginia McAlister on Oct. 23, 1956, in St. Charles, Mo.
He retired from Commercial Transport and was a member of Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau. He was of the Assembly of God faith. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, tractor restoration and was the master of tinkering.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, Troy (Jennifer) Elfrank of Aurora, Ky.; three daughters, Susan Horman of Hardin, Ky., Marsha (Jim) Johnston of Scott City and Joy Smith of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Larry Elfrank of St. Clair; 5 sisters, Henrietta Delay of Advance, Mo., Carolyn Mennesee of St. Clair, Mo., Peggy Sue Edwards of Holstein, Mo., Patti Propst of Washington, Mo., and Margaret Dow of Harrison, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday until time of service at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with Pastor Art Heinz officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
