Bernard Cruz

Bernard Christopher Cruz. 26, of Jackson departed his life Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

He was born in Riverside, California, June 7, 1995, to Kimberly James Avalos and Sergio Cruz.

Upon his death, Bernard was employed by Procter & Gamble/Manpower and was also a former employee of Dexter Barbecue in Cape Girardeau.

Bernard enjoyed outdoor activities and especially the time he spent with his children and family.

He was a pending member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, where he was completing his Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults classes and was to be baptized on Easter.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Baylor Cruz of Jackson. He was the proud father of four children, Talan, Liam, Mia and Izaiah of Jackson.

Other survivors include his parents, Kim and Rodrigo Avalos of Jackson; six siblings, Benny, Joseph, Tina, Anthony, Christopher and Adryana; and many other relatives and friends.

Bernard was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles James.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Alex Sutachan officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
