EAST PRAIRIE -- Ben Edward Johnson, 84, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 5, 1914, at Charleston, son of Fradis E. and Rose M. Jones Johnson.
He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a retired farmer and pipeline worker who attended the Barnes Ridge Baptist Church near East Prairie.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Johnson of East Prairie and James Johnson of Arcadia; two daughters, Minnie Pennebaker of Daisy and Linda Sue Midkiff of Annapolis; a brother, Everett Johnson of Gordonville; a sister, Emma J. Stearns of Marble Hill; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
His parents, two sons, two daughters, three grandchildren, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Chapel with Raymond Grimes officiating. Burial will be at the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
