Beatrice L. Calvert, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born March 24, 1920, in Dillon, S.C., daughter of John and Elizabeth MacQueen. She and Willett Calvert were married Nov. 14, 1943, in Varnville, S.C. He died March 10, 1997.

Calvert was a school teacher for seven years and was a substitute teacher at Cape Central High School. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she taught junior high Sunday school for many years, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women Club. She was an avid bridge player.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Calvert Jr. of Mission Viejo, Calif., Col. John Calvert of Norfolk, Va., and Don Calvert of Easton, Conn.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, two half brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Scott officiating.
