GIPSY -- Bashie Jane Stilts, 83, of Gipsy, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1992, at Advance Nursing and Residential Care Center. She was born Aug. 30, 1908, at Buchanan, daughter of Albert and Edith Wagoner Gaines. She married Harley Rush Jan. 26, 1926, who died March 10, 1969. She later married Lee Stilts Aug. 4, 1971, who died Aug. 9, 1984...

GIPSY -- Bashie Jane Stilts, 83, of Gipsy, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1992, at Advance Nursing and Residential Care Center.

She was born Aug. 30, 1908, at Buchanan, daughter of Albert and Edith Wagoner Gaines. She married Harley Rush Jan. 26, 1926, who died March 10, 1969. She later married Lee Stilts Aug. 4, 1971, who died Aug. 9, 1984.

Stilts was a charter member of Zalma Chapter 509 Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Harley Rush of Coldwater, Kan., Donald Rush of Minier, Ill.; six daughters, Glenda Crader of Bunker Hill, Ill., Edith Jones of Sturdivant, Rosemary Shoup of Peoria, Ill., Esther Miller of Bethalto, Ill., Betty Masters of Godfrey, Ill., Jacqueline Pursifull of Gresham, Ore.; a stepson, Earl Stilts Jr. of Leora; a stepdaughter, Jeanette Sitze of Gipsy; two brothers, Elbert and Noah Gaines of East Alton, Ill.; a sister, Betty Kohntopp of Alton; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, a brother, three sisters and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Norman Elledge will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Eugene Payne. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery near Zalma.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
