OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Barney "Ted" Henderson, 78, of Olive Branch died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at his home.
He was born Feb. 25, 1927, in Olive Branch, a son of Barney S. and Hannah Elizabeth Hill Henderson. He and Genevieve Marie Christian were married Aug. 5, 1980, in Mound City.
Henderson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thebes. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a laborer until his retirement and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Marie Henderson of Olive Branch; five sons, Glenn (Joanna) Henderson of Olive Branch, Vernon (Lois) Henderson of Olive Branch, Rodney (Stacey) Henderson of Cape Girardeau, Clinton (Christal) Henderson of Olive Branch and Adam Henderson of Olive Branch; two daughters, Beverly (Jerry) Held and Ellen (Dale) Bigham, both of Olive Branch; two sisters, Irene Franklin of Olive Branch and Bernice McRaven of Jonesboro, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special friends, Gene (Evelyn) Fore and John (Robin) Bruer, both of Olive Branch; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Henderson; three sisters, Angeline Syneski, Daisy Kelley and Ludean Henderson; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ludean Henderson; and a grandchild, Brandy McKee.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with Rev. Carl Fisher officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Olive Branch.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
