BARNEY BAER SR.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Bernard A. "Barney" Baer Sr., 89, of Perryville died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 6, 1910, at Apple Creek, son of Bernard M. and Mary Trapp Baer. He and Philomena C. Wibbenmeyer were married May 10, 1941, at Apple Creek. She died Sept. 21, 1994.

Baer had farmed, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Men's Sodality at Apple Creek.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Laurentius, Stella Ernst, Joyce Triller and Jane Pohlman, all of Perryville; five sons, Chalmer Baer, Orville Baer, Barney Baer Jr. and Allen Baer, all of Perryville, Robert Baer of Arnold; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and from 6:30-10 a.m. Friday. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church at Apple Creek, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
