Barbara A. Hobbs Thomason, 78, of St. James, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020.
Barb was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Chaffee, Missouri, to J.V. and Vera Hobbs. She and Carl Thomason were married July 6, 1963, in Cape Girardeau.
She was a graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Carl; daughters, Jo Anne Bell and Jamie Danielle Robertson; and granddaughters, Tabatha Marie Bell and Meadow Alexa Robertson. Also surviving are her sister, Nancy Jo Deimund; nephew, Mitchell Deimund Jr.; niece, Michelle Deimund; and many extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hobbs and Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Edalman; brother-in-law, Mitchell Deimund; and many aunts and uncles.
Barb also leaves behind her precious pets.
A brief funeral and committal will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m., at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Tri Co Humane Society, 745 E. Springfield St., St. James, MO 65559.
A face-covering will be required to attend the visitation and funeral.
