Barbara Treece Ogborn, 57, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at her home in Cape Girardeau, after a long tenacious battle with cancer.
She attended Caruthersville High School and Southeast Missouri State University, moving to Cape Girardeau in 1976. She was an accountant 30 years at Ogborn Accounting and Tax Service.
Barb loved life. She was a very optimistic, energetic, cheerful person. She was devoted to her work. She considered her clients as her friends, and they were. She was of the Church of Christ belief.
Barbara was born March 21, 1949, daughter of Harold and Edna Stewart Simpson. She was married to Michael Treece Aug. 30, 1968.
Her father and husband preceded her in death.
Loving survivors are Gary Ogborn of Cape Girardeau, her partner in life of over 30 years; mother, Edna Simpson of Cape Girardeau; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jodi Treece of Wolf Lake, Ill.; two stepsons, Derek Ogborn and wife Robin of Cape Girardeau, Cary Ogborn and wife Holly of Houston, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Debra Simpson of Jackson, Tenn.; a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Rob Thomson of Kansas City, Mo.; and 10 adored grandchildren, Austin, Kayla, Braeden, Kasey, Chase, Gage, Preston, Josh, Amber and Scott; four nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews; and many friends and clients.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The graveside service and burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Sunday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bobby Brandon officiating.
