JONESBORO, Ill. — Barbara J. Livesay, 87, of Jonesboro died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Fountainbleau Lodge Skilled Nursing Facility in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Everett and Margie Choate Robertson. She married Charles Wayne Livesay on Dec. 24, 1956, in Jonesboro. JONESBORO, Ill. — Barbara J. Livesay, 87, of Jonesboro died Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Fountainbleau Lodge Skilled Nursing Facility in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Everett and Margie Choate Robertson. She married Charles Wayne Livesay on Dec. 24, 1956, in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 2021.

Barbara was a member of Ware Baptist Church. She was a stern woman, very strong in her faith. She always kept her Bible nearby. She loved her German shepherds, but most of all, she loved her grandson, Brandon, and her great-grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her son, Kevin (Dena) Livesay of Ware, Illinois; grandson, Brandon (Whitney) Robertson of Ware; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Aubrie, Kinley and Olivia; her lifelong friend, Rosemary Pender; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Iris Jean Toler and Patricia Ann Crippin; and brother, Jimmy Dale Gast.

Visitation will be from from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, May 24, at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral will be at noon Friday, May 24, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Davy Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the activities fund at Fountainbleau Lodge. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
