BENTON, Mo. -- Barbara Ann Criss, 72, daughter of the late Tillman Luther and Willie Lee Caraway Turner, was born April 12, 1948, in Cape Girardeau and departed this life Saturday, April 10, 2021, at her home in Benton.

On April 1, 1988, she was united in marriage to Robert Earl Criss in Benton. He survives of the home in Benton.

Barbara was a former employee at the Scott County Associate Circuit Clerk's office and a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.

Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Kim (Patrick) Schlosser of Cape Girardeau and Tami Payne of McLeansboro, Illinois; brother Gary Turner of Benton; two sisters, Carolyn Davis and Brenda Ward, both of Sikeston, Missouri; six grandchildren, Logan (Lindsey) Schlosser of Advance, Missouri; Aaron Schlosser and Courtney Schlosser, both of Cape Girardeau; Madison Payne and Garrett Payne, both of McLeansboro; and Joseph Ellis of Benton.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Lee Ellis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.

Funeral service will at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton, with the Revs. Dennis Lowe and John Tarter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
