Barbara Bridges

Barbara Jean Bridges, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, in Wappapello, Missouri.

She was born March 20, 1939, in Los Angeles to Roy Marshall and Agnes Florine Roberts Killion. She graduated from Reseda High School and studied at California State University at Northridge.

She and Richard Eilers were married Aug. 28, 1958 in Hollywood, California. He preceded her in death July 14, 2010.

Barbara was a member of Cape First Baptist Church and Southeast Hospital Auxiliary and also volunteered at the hospital. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Karen Yates for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Russell Eilers of Yucaipa, California, and Scott Douglas Eilers of Austin, Texas; daughter, Karen Lynn (Matt) Webster of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Margaret Jo Anne (Alvin) Farless of Cape Girardeau; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cape County Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Phil Roop officiating. Entombment will be at the mausoleum

Memorial contributions may be given to Teen Challenge.
