Avis Allmon, 87, of Jackson passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Drum, Missouri, daughter of Henry Lee and Annie Markham Mabrey. She and Glen E. Allmon were united in marriage Dec. 31, 1949, and he passed away Feb. 4, 2011.
Avis was valedictorian of her graduating class from Delta High School.
She worked as a licensed practical nurse for the Lutheran Home. She was a member of Eastern Star and Whitewater United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader.
Survivors include her daughter, Mona (Terry) Seabaugh of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Linda Allmon of Jackson; brothers, Richard and Donald Mabrey, both of St. Louis; grandchildren, Dr. Amanda (Jason) Allmon of Columbia, Missouri, Matt (Amanda) Seabaugh of Perryville, Missouri, Andy (Kacey) Seabaugh of Oak Ridge and Adam Allmon of Jackson; and seven great-grandchildren..
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; son, Roger Allmon; brothers, Ercel and Gerald Mabrey; and sisters, Fay Settle and Oma Herwig.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Dr. Don Kuehle officiating. Interment will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
