FROHNA -- Avery Eugene Jordan, 66, of Frohna, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 1995, at his home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1929, at Bessville, son of John and Clara Mae Upchurch Jordan. He and Lilly Elizabeth Harlan were married Dec. 23, 1944.

Jordan was a retired machinist with ACF Industries. He was a member of the Church of God at Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Joe, Carl and Larry Jordan of Marble Hill, Tony Jordan of Westfield, Ill., David Jordan of Jackson, Phil Jordan of Frohna; five daughters, Ruby Isaacs of Perryville, Betty Kasten of Frohna, Janet Bell of Devenport, Iowa, Rita Wagner of Perkins, Clara Ennis of Marble Hill; a brother, Rev. Paul Jordan of Marble Hill; a sister, Maedean Devenport of Jonesboro, Iowa; 21 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Alvie Surface and Paul Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill.
