Funeral service for August Blake Friscia of Bedford Village, N.Y., was held Friday at the Presbyterian Church there. Burial was in a cemetery there.

Friscia, 66, died Tuesday, June 15, 1993, at Northern Westchester Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1927, in Tampa, Fla., son of Ignazio and Rosalia Friscia. He married the former Dixie Bader of Cape Girardeau.

Friscia was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, and received his Ph.D. in economics from New York University. He worked several years with American Petroleum Institute. He then went to work for Chase Manhattan Bank where as vice president he edited the publication, International Finance, and served as chief Latin American economist.

After retiring in 1991, he taught at New York University in an adjunct capacity and participated in seminars and research projects for the Americas Society.

Survivors include his wife of Bedford Village; a daughter, Anne of Santa Cruz, Calif., and a brother, Joe Friscia of Saratoga, Calif.
