AUDREY T. WELKER

Audrey Thelma Welker, 83, 1501 N. Water, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born July 26, 1912, in Carter County, daughter of Monroe and Radie Stacy Rhodes. She and Luther J. Welker were married in 1929 in Cape Girardeau. He died May 21, 1949.

Welker was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and worked in the church nursery 30 years.

Survivors include two sons, Bob and Michael Welker of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Bonnie Hahs and Patsie Higgins of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Betty Malone of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Edna Baker and Wanda Break of Cape Girardeau, Dorothy Howell of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. S.S. Borum and Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
