VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Arvin Ray Harp, 51, of Villa Ridge, formerly of Mounds and Grand Chain, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born at America Community, Ill., April 29, 1947, son of Earl Leo Harp and Iris Juanita Boren Harp.
He was a retired Navy veteran with more than 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and had served as a police officer for the city of Mounds, Mound City and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Earl L. and Louise Harp of Tamms; a daughter, Katlain Jointer of Mounds; three brothers, Tony Harp of Mound City, John Harp of Grand Chain and Steve Caudle of Tamms; and a sister, Debbie Harp of Mound City.
Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at the National Cemetery in Mound City.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
