Arthur Herman Siemers, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, son of August H. and Edna I. Schwab Siemers. He and Mary Jane Miller were married Sept. 25, 1942, in Cape Girardeau. She died June 11, 1959. He later married Meta Koechig June 24, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.
Siemers operated a Holstein dairy farm west of Cape Girardeau since 1947.
He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, charter member of Mended Hearts Chapter 183 at Southeast Hospital and was still active for 21 years, served as Republican committeeman, member of Cape County Farm Bureau, was affiliated with SEMO Dairymen Inc., and Mid American Dairymen Inc., board member of Cape Mutual Insurance Co., SEMO Boosters and charter member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 8 of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Meta Siemers; two sons, Thomas A. (Debbie) Siemers of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Jerry W. (Patty) Siemers of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Martha J. (Jim) Wills of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Earl Siemers of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Allene Ainsworth of Cape Girardeau; three granddaughters, Tina Seyer of Jackson, Dana McClard of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Clark of Tuscaloosa; three grandsons, Justin, Jared and Jonathan Siemers of Cape Girardeau; four great-grandchildren, Trevon and Clayton McClard of Cape Girardeau, Landon and Gavin Clark of Tuscaloosa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Siemers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Heckman, Rev. David Schaffner, and Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Justin, Jared and Jonathan Siemers, Francis McClard, Jeff Clark and Daniel Cook.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
