Arthur McDowell

KARNAK, Ill. -- Arthur Eugene "Gene" McDowell, 46, of Karnak died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1959, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Claude and Arcille Green McDowell.

McDowell worked in construction and logging.

Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Rodriguez of Paducah, Ky.; his mother of Urbandale, Ill.; five sisters, Karen Poole of Cairo, Ill., Laura Scott of Urbandale, Teri Vaughn of Benton, Ill., Claudette of Little Rock, Ark., Rhonda of Joplin, Mo.; three brothers, David McDowell of Urbandale, Russell McDowell of Vienna, Ill., Claude McDowell Jr. of Joplin; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Crain Pleasant Grove/Murdale Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.
