Arthur "Art" J. LeGrand, 92, of Cape Girardeau went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 26, 1925, in Chaffee, Missouri to Lawrence F. and Katherine Klipfel LeGrand. He and Vivian Gardiner were married Jan. 21, 1950, at Dutchtown.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He retired as a construction coordinator for the State of Missouri.

Art was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Marine Corp League and the Elks Club. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111 and was a Fourth-Degree Knight with the Thomas A. Langen Assembly.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau and was very active in the church.

Survivors include his daughter, Gail Pearman of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Megan (Zachary) Scott and Dustin (Kristina) LeGrand; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa LeGrand and Collin LeGrand; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Scot LeGrand; five brothers, Ben, Vince, Arnold, Herman and Norman LeGrand; and three sisters, Rose LeGrand, Eva Bollinger and Mary Bryant.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus Council 1111 rosary.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
