Arthur Mitchell "Art" Vann, 49, of the Missouri Veterans Home, formerly of Matthews, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 13, 1958, in Sikeston, Mo., son of R.B. and Imogene Morrison Vann.

Vann was a 1976 graduate of Matthews High School, and farmed with his father and brother until joining the U.S. Army in 1983. He served four years in Germany. He returned to Matthews, where he was an electrician. He was a member of Big Prairie Jaycees in Matthews and New Madrid Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Joe Vann of New Madrid, Mo., and a sister, Stacey Constant of Eureka, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
