EAST PRAIRIE -- Arnold Belton Lay, 73, of East Prairie, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Walker County, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Lay. He first married Naomi Johnson, who died in 1989. He later married Ada Marie Counts June 16, 1974.
Lay was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Arnold Lay of East Prairie, Jimmy Lay of Anniston, Johnny and Larry Lay of Jasper, Ala.; eight daughters, Brenda Jones of Alton, Donna Grissom of East Prairie, Joyce Kimball of New Madrid, Peggy, Brenda, Sharon and Mildred Lay of Jasper, Frances Lay of Houston, Texas; a brother, James Lay of Jasper; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, 11 brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren.
