Armin A.W. Mahnken, 76, of Farrar died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital, Perryville.
He was born Jan. 27, 1921, the son of Gottlieb and Marie Eggers Mahnken. He and Mildred B. Koenig were married Sept. 30, 1950.
Mahnken was a retired carpenter from Bock Construction in Altenburg. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church at Farrar and the Salem Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife of Farrar, two sons, Mark A. Mahnken of Perryville and Joel L. MahnKen of Garden City, Kan.; three daughters, Yvonne M. Miesner of Farrar, and Kay E. Gerler, and Diane B. Petzoldt, both of Altenburg; a sister, Delfie Mueller of Perryville; a half-brother, Eilert Mahnken of Farrar; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, two brothers, two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call between 4 and 9 p.m. today or from 6:30 to noon Tuesday at Young and Sons in Perryville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
