Arlene Blanchett, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday Aug. 19, 2018, at Lutheran Home.

She was born July 28, 1925, in Minneola, Kansas, daughter of Richard Eugene and Mignon N. Riley Hall and was one of 12 children of that union. She and Samuel Robert "Bob" Blanchett were married Jan. 16, 1944, in Dodge City, Kansas.

Arlene and Bob lived in Minneola, where Bob worked for the Natural Gas Pipeline of America. They were transferred to Illinois, Texas and then to Jackson in 1966.

She was a longtime member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. Arlene enjoyed traveling in their RV and playing dominos, cards and board games, which she usually won.

In addition to her husband of 74 years, Bob Blanchett, loving survivors include three children, Les (Jane) Blanchett of Victoria, Texas, Carolyn (Charlie) Snyder of Conway, Arkansas, and Bruce Blanchett (Darla Womick) of Burfordville; four grandchildren, Amy Blanchett, Josh Blanchett, Matt Blanchett and Gabe Snyder; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry (Delores) Hall.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

The family suggests contributions be made to New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
