ARETTA FAYE GOFORTH

COBDEN, Ill. -- Aretta Faye Goforth, 66, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996, at the Jonesboro Healthcare Center.

She was born Dec. 8, 1929, at Union County, Ill., daughter of Dewey and Stella Vinson Gibson. She married Tony Ray Goforth in Jackson County. He died in 1970.

Goforth worked at the Florsheim Shoe Co. until her retirement and was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Cobden.

Survivors are a son, Rex Goforth of Cobden; four sisters, Lucille Rhodes, Bonnie Trexler and Patricia Bryant, all of Alto Pass, Ill., and Sharon Shaffer of Norman, Okla.; two brothers, Dewey Gibson of Carbondale, Ill., and Leroy Gibson of Holland, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Hileman and Parr Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Ronald Strong will officiate, with burial in the Casper Cemetery.
