ANNA, Ill. -- Arawayne Gillespie, 81, of Anna died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Murphysboro, daughter of Norman and Minnie Johnson Rushing. She and Clarence Gillespie Jr. were married Aug. 23, 1939, at Jackson, Mo.
Gillespie was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, retired Air Force Col. Richard Gillespie of Anna, Franklin Gillespie of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Pamela Fisher of Keller, Texas; two sisters, Gay Rushing and Lois Savity of Murphysboro, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
