OLMSTED, Ill. -- Annie Helen Mellein, 81, of Olmsted died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo, Ill.
She was born March 1, 1921, in Pulaski County, Ill., daughter of William Edward and Annie Atherton Lance. She married Victor Cecil Mellein, who died Sept. 13, 1987.
Mellein was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, Ill. She was formerly of Kankakee, Ill.
Survivors include a son, William Mellein of Olmsted; four daughters, Teresa Alford and Anna Garcia of Villa Ridge, Ill., Mary Loudy of Kankakee, Gladys Rabideau of Olmsted; a brother, Charles Lance of West Frankfort, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Monsignor Bill McGhee and the Rev. Mike Abel will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain.
