Annie May Williams, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Annie May Williams, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Nov. 9, 1918, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Pauline "Polly" Slaughter Temple. She and Lloyd Williams were married in November 1941 at Cape Girardeau. He died in December 1979.

She attended John S. Cobb School in Cape Girardeau and worked as an inspector for Procter and Gamble.

She was one of the first members of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church, a member of the Council of Catholic Women and a member of Cursillo.

She was a volunteer with the Cape Girardeau County Red Cross and with Friends of the Park. She was a member of the Republican Women and the Retirees of Procter and Gamble.

Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Frances Williams of Cape Girardeau, Paul Stephen Williams of Atlanta and Joseph Girard Williams of Kansas City; four daughters, Laura Jean Cato of Willow Springs, Gladys Elaine Young of Memphis and Elsie Williams and Mary Margaret Lacey, both of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Thelma Fielder of Hammond, Ind., and Lygia Doyle Whitelaw of Joliet, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with parish prayers at 7.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Monsignor Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
