Annabelle Hartle

Annabelle Hartle, 98, of Millersville died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 2, 1910, in Morehouse, Mo., daughter of Charlie and Leona Proffer Wofford. She and Harry R. Hartle were married March 20, 1931. He died Dec. 22, 1983.

Hartle was a member of Millersville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's League and served as church organist for many years. She was a former member of the Jackson Order of Eastern Star Chapter 91 for more than 50 years and for the last two years was a member of the Oak Ridge Order of Eastern Star Chapter 310.

Survivors include a son, Roger Hartle of Millersville; a daughter, Shirley Holmes of Jackson; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Craig Petzoldt officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
