Anna Nees, 84, of Scott City died Monday, July 7, 2008, at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Judsonia, Ark., daughter of James A. and Pauline Hudson Rackley. She and Welton C. Nees were married Oct. 9, 1944, at Bonne Terre, Mo. He died March 23, 1993.
Nees was an agent with Missouri-Pacific Railroad during World War II.
She lived in Arcadia, Mo., 52 years, moving to Scott City in 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton, Mo.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula (Thomas) Brunke of Scott City; a brother, Jerry (Wanda) Rackley of Jonesboro, Ark.; a grandson, Jeff (Michelle) Brunke of Scott City; a great-granddaughter, Kylie Campbell; a stepgrandson, Michael (Sondra) Brunke of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a great-stepgrandson, Collin Brunke.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, a grandson and a stepgrandson.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Arcadia Valley Cemetery in Arcadia.
