ZALMA, Mo. — Anna Alice Hovis, 87, of Zalma, formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Olathe, Colo., daughter of the Rev. Otto and Tora Richards Pridy. She and David Eugene Hovis were married Dec. 23, 1940.
Hovis was affiliated with Turkey Creek General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; seven sons, Tom and Bill Hovis of Hiram, Mo., Bob and John Hovis of Zalma, Jim Hovis of Sikeston, Mo., Joe Hovis of Poplar Bluff, Mike Hovis of Advance, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jamie Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
