Anna Ella Berry, 82, of Florence, Ky., died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky.
She was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert Leonard Church and Iva Bernice Barnett. She married the Rev. Floyd James Berry, a Baptist minister, May 18, 1947, in Cape Girardeau.
Her husband and a brother, James Robert Newton Church, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Berry was a 1941 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She received a bachelor of education degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1945 and completed her master of education degree in 1966.
Mrs. Berry taught high school more than 30 years in Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana. She retired from teaching in 1982 while living in Evansville, Ind.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Berry moved to Florence in 2000 to be near family. She was a member of Florence Baptist Church and enjoyed many friends while residing at Colonial Heights Retirement Apartments.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanne and Robert Gaddis of Campbellsville, Ky., Carole and Michael Walsh of Walton, Ky., Bonnie and Philipp Erhardt of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, James and Lynn Berry of Zionsville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Autumn Church of Garland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gideon Bible Fund in memory of Anna Berry.
