JACKSON, Mo. -- Anita E. Sievers, 85, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 8, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Anita E. Sievers, 85, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 8, from 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Mrs. Sievers was born May 18, 1916, at Tilsit, Mo., daughter of Henry and Bertha Wettengel Maevers. She and Elmer Sievers were married Dec. 17, 1939. Mr. Sievers passed away May 21, 1982.

Loving survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Anita Sievers and Tim and Judy Sievers, all of Jackson; a daughter, Betty Schuetts of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Brian Sievers and wife Joanna of Gordonville, Mo., Boyd Sievers of Jackson his fiancee and her son, Leslie Moss and Christian of Cape Girardeau, Michelle Sievers Clippard and husband John of Jackson, Dana Schuetts Gier and husband Chris of Lake Jackson, Texas, Pvt. James Sievers of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Travis Sievers of Jackson.

Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Jake and Luke Sievers of Jackson, Allison and Logan Gier of Lake Jackson, and Megan Clippard of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, a great-granddaughter, and a son-in-law, Hayden Schuetts.

Mrs. Sievers was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit. Since 1940 she has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where she was a member of the J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) Group. Her favorite hobbies included playing cards with special friends, gardening, and frequent visits to the family farm in the Tilsit community.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Building Fund.
