COBDEN, Ill. -- Anita Mae Sherwood, 74, of Cobden died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at her home.
She was born June 9, 1928, in Belleville, Ill., daughter of Adam Louis and Agnes Ihle Brust. She and Billy Dean Sherwood were married May 24, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. He died July 17, 1977.
Sherwood worked at H.H. Dubois Basket Factory, and retired as head cook from Cobden Unit School District in 1994. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Sherwood of Springfield, Ill., Rick Sherwood of Cobden; three daughters, Cindy Sherwood of Anna, Ill., Linda Robinson of Dyersburg, Tenn., Judy Greer of Cobden; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7:30.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Federico Higuera officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
