DONGOLA, Ill. -- Anita Phillips, 69, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of Anna, Ill., died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Rosewood Care Center in Creve Coeur, Mo. She was born Oct. 3, 1931, at Anna, daughter of Grover and Ruth Vancil Simmerman. She and Robert F. Phillips were married Dec. 28, 1952. He died Oct. 11, 1975...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Anita Phillips, 69, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of Anna, Ill., died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Rosewood Care Center in Creve Coeur, Mo.

She was born Oct. 3, 1931, at Anna, daughter of Grover and Ruth Vancil Simmerman. She and Robert F. Phillips were married Dec. 28, 1952. He died Oct. 11, 1975.

Survivors include a son, Alan Phillips of Hazelwood; a daughter, Ann Vu of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Pauline Nordmeyer of Decatur, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Donald Poole will officiate, with burial in St. Johns Cemetery.
