PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Anita de la Garza, 81, of Perryville died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1928, in Penitas, Texas, daughter of Hipolito and Catarina Rivas Zamora. She and Rodolfo de la Garza were married July 19, 1952.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Rudy de la Garza of Ankeny, Iowa; three daughters, Gloria Stinson of Ankeny, Viola Spencer of Seattle, Beth Whelehon of Perryville; four brothers, Noe and Eddie Zamora of California, Hector Zamora of Harlingen, Texas, Roberto Zamora of McAllen, Texas; two sisters, Olivia Ervine of Hildalgo, Texas, Lydia Diaz of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
De la Garza was owner of True Value Hardware Store in Bonne Terre, Mo., and had been a certified nurses aide. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Perryville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 6:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with John Chamness officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery in Perryville.
