DEXTER -- Andy Swallows, 76, of Dexter, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at his home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1919, near Essex, son of Charlie A. and Lula R. Swan Swallows. He and Ines Irene Patterson were married April 27, 1941, in Dexter. She died Feb. 7, 1970.
Swallows worked 36 years at Morgan Furniture Store, and then was a maintenance worker at Dexter Public Schools, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Imogene Powers of Cape Girardeau; a son, Larry Swallows of St. Louis; two brothers, Elmer Swallows of Dexter, Charles Swallows of Canalou; a sister, Florence Sanders of Dexter; four grandsons, and four great-grandsons.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Long officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
