Andrew Phoenix, 46, of Scott City, formerly of Ava, Ill., passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 28, 1965, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Edward Wayne and Patricia Ann Reiman Phoenix. He and Michelle Renee Hony were married in December 1992.
Andrew was a member of Illmo Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, McKayla Newcom of Ava; his father and stepmother, Edward and Barbara Phoenix of Ava; two brothers, Dawayne (Rachel) Phoenix of Scott City and Michael (Jennie) Phoenix of Gloucester, Va.; a stepbrother, Jim Newcom; a niece, Stephany Winter of Pinckneyville, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Wilma Reiman of Murphysboro; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia; maternal grandfather, Noah Reiman; and paternal grandparents, Fred and Josephine Phoenix.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Missionary Baptist Church in Ava, with the Rev. Robert Boyett officiating.
