JACKSON -- Andrew Jackson DeLay, 78, of Jackson, died Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Advance, son of David and Zelma Wright DeLay. He first married Esther Garner in 1936, who died Sept. 16, 1973. He later married Lois Warpen Nov. 2, 1974.
DeLay was a driver with Greyhound Bus Lines 39 years. He lived in Imperial from 1967-85 and was a member and deacon at People's Church in Arnold. He moved to Jackson in September 1985 and became a member and deacon at First Assembly of God Church here.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Charlott Macormic of St. Louis; two brothers, Jim DeLay of Bell City, Hubert DeLay of Charleston; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and four sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Dean Heady officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance.
