CAMBRIA, Ill. — Andrew Wayne Chandler, 31, of Cambria died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at his father's home in Goreville, Illinois.

He was born May 10, 1992, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Darrell Chandler and Kelley Matlock.

Andrew was a 2010 graduate of Shawnee High School. He attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was an avid reader and had a lifelong passion for learning. He enjoyed comedy and loved writing jokes. He loved music and was a member of several bands. Andrew's other loves were animals, especially his cats, and his family. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Kelley (Stephen) Gannon; father, Darrell (Tammy) Chandler; siblings, Mathew and Dustin Chandler, Holly Alexander, Doug Meade, Jashua Cox and Cody and Michael Gannon; grandparents, Donald (Beth) Chandler Sr. and Peggy Worthen; uncles, Shane Matlock and Donnie and Kevin Chandler; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobbie June Matlock, Elizabeth Chandler and Dorthy Kelley.

The family of Andrew Chandler will host a gathering to celebrate his life from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at The Foundation Room, 204 Tower Square, in Marion, Illinois.

Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Illinois, is assisting the family with arrangements.
