DELTA -- Amos Snider, 84, of Delta died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Oak Ridge. He was born June 4, 1915, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Oliver Pletus and Mary Davis Snider. He and Connie Marie Fox were married Aug. 29, 1935. She died May 26, 1966. He was a retired construction worker and served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

DELTA -- Amos Snider, 84, of Delta died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Oak Ridge.

He was born June 4, 1915, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Oliver Pletus and Mary Davis Snider. He and Connie Marie Fox were married Aug. 29, 1935. She died May 26, 1966.

He was a retired construction worker and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Snider of Chaffee and Oliver Snider Jr. of Oak Ridge; a daughter, Carmen Brown of Charleston; two sisters, Fern Kensting of Wentzville and Geraldine Cox of Arbor; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six children, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. John Davis will officiate, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
