OLMSTED, Ill. -- A.M. "Pete" Huddlestun, a former mayor of Olmsted, Pulaski County commissioner and member of the Olmsted Board of Education, died Sunday, May 5, 1996, at his home in Olmsted. He was 87.
He was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Ullin, the son of Homer and Ethel Ebbert Huddlestun.
He was the owner of Huddlestun General Merchandise Store in Olmsted, a member of the board of directors of the First State Bank of Olmsted and worked on programs for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Gutherz Huddlestun of Olmsted; a daughter, Joan Lemons of Longwood, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Noreen Goldstein of St. Louis; four grandsons and one stepgranddaughter.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel Cook Huddleston, and an infant son.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted with the Rev. Carl H. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Thistlewood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
