CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Alvina Catherine Schetter, 94, of Chaffee died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1906, at New Hamburg, Mo., daughter of Ludonis Frank and Anna Mary Weber Schmitt.
She worked as a machine operator at Thorngate in Chaffee before retirement.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, the Daughters of St. Ambrose, Legion of Mary and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 389 in Chaffee.
She and Leo Hess were married in 1928. He died Oct. 26, 1937. She and Louie John Schetter were married April 15, 1939, at Illmo, Mo. He died Feb. 6, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Elmer Schetter of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lorena Compass of Costa Mesa, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
