Alvina "Beenie" Forrester, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born April 2, 1932, in Charleston, Mo., to William Henry and Lucretia Schaffer Hart. She and Herbert Glenn Forrester were married July 26, 1951, at Charleston.

Mrs. Forrester was a graduate of St. Henry High School in Charleston. She moved to Cape Girardeau from Charleston in 1978 and had previously lived in Jacksonville, Ill., 14 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Daughters of Isabella and Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Glenn Forrester Sr. of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Herbert G. Forrester Jr. (Kathy) of Oklahoma City, Okla., David B. Forrester of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two daughters, Victoria M. McGrath (Larry) and Sandra A. Lonergan (Martin) of Jacksonville; a sister, Isabel Anderson of Granite City, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary M. Forrester in 1995; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
